Earlier this week, the first 2014 Infiniti Q50 rolled off the production line, signaling the beginning of a new era at Infiniti. The Infiniti Q50 marks the first vehicle that be produced using the new Infiniti naming convention, under which the rest of the Infiniti line is soon to follow. The 2014 Infiniti Q50 also represents the exciting direction that this longtime luxury nameplate is headed.
It was another solid month for Infiniti. The marquee luxury nameplate posted April sales of of 7,844 vehicles, a 10 percent increase when compared to the same month in 2012. To date, Infiniti has seen sales of 35,220 units, a 5.6 percent versus the same period of time last year. This solid performance in April was boosted primarily by the Infiniti G Sedan and the 2013 Infiniti FX, which both saw double-digit increases in sales.
I am happy to report that the 2013 Infiniti M37, the nameplate’s flagship sedan, was recently named to the Top Safety Pick list by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Among a few areas of focus, front, side, rollover and rear crash ratings are integral to IIHS ratings, all strong points for the 2013 Infiniti M37. This sedan was also awarded a 5-star safety rating National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), leaving no doubt that you and your passengers will be the safest you can be each and every time you venture out onto the roads.

Infiniti recently posted March sales in the United States of over 11,100 units. These are impressive numbers that represent a 9 percent improvement over March of 2012 and, to no one’s surprise, a large part of the 27,300 units that Infiniti has moved so far this year. These eye-catching quarter 1 gains are a 4.4 percent improvement over quarter 1 of 2012 and are in part the result of the new 2013 Infiniti JX35.
So far this year, there has been plenty of news from the Infiniti nameplate. First and foremost is a change to the naming convention, to which the highly-anticipated 2014 Infiniti Q50 takes its tag. Next in line is the 2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid, a refreshed luxury crossover that promises to combine luxury driving and crossover dynamism in a way that few other automakers can.
Infiniti of Coconut Creek has produced a performance vehicle on the already spectacular 2013 G37 Coupe IPL (Infiniti Performance Line). Under the guidance of Michael Crowley, the vehicle has been tuned to produce a whopping 515hp using a Stillen Super-Charger. On a Mustang Dyno the numbers show 400hp to the wheels.
Wrapped in stunning Chrome, this shiny bullet also boasts XO Luxury Wheels (20/8″ Front, 20/10″ Rear). The interior is swathed in Black Leather Sport seats with IPL stitching, Bose audio system, and Magnesium paddle shifters.

, and the occasional wagon. I just finished a year of driving the Honda Odyssey, and my replacement vehicle for this year is the 2013 Infiniti JX35 AWD SUV. The JX’s 3.5-liter V-6 engine delivers 265 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque, propelling drivers from zero to 60 in 8.2 seconds. The continuously variable transmission offers a manual shift mode, and adjusts revs to accommodate the Drive Mode Selector among Standard, Sport, Snow, and Eco modes. EPA estimates the JX will average a combined 20 mpg (18/23 city/highway).The JX is great for long-distance treks. I comfortably drove nearly 1500 miles round-trip to the Bonneville Salt Flats.
With a base price of $41,550, the JX offers a lot of luxury for the dollar. Standard features include leather seats, tinted power moonroof, power remote rear liftgate, Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System, and SiriusXM Satellite Radio, but we optioned our Diamond Slate JX with every available package, bringing the final price to $54,800.
